WindLog is an Excel spreadsheet program to enable easy download of WindLogger .CSV data files into Excel. It is particularly useful when the data files for each day exceed the maximum number of lines that can be imported into one Excel worksheet. WindLog is only compatible with data recorded by a WindLogger from WindSonic sensors.

The data output format from the WindSonic sensor must be as per the default configuration of ASCII Polar Continuous.

The WindLogger is also compatible with the MetPak weather station for logging full meteorological data.

SD and MMC mobile Card Data Capacity

When logging from a WindSonic sensor, each data reading comprises up to 41 bytes. The following table gives the approximate capacity of various sized memory cards, depending on the logging interval selected, assuming a WindSonic sensor is connected:

  WindSonic
Logging Interval (Readings per time interval)
Memory Card Size 4 per sec 2 per sec 1 per sec 1 per 2 sec 1 per 5 sec 1 per 10 sec
1 GB 75 days 151 days 303 days 606 days >4 years >8 years
2 GB 151 days 303 days 606 days >3 years >8 years >16 years

When logging from a MetPak weather station, each data set comprises at least 75 bytes.  The following table gives the approximate capacity of various sized memory cards, depending on the logging interval selected, assuming a MetPak is connected:

  MetPak II
Logging Interval (Readings per time interval)
Memory Card Size 1 per sec 1 per 2 sec 1 per 10 sec
1 GB >600 days >3 years 4.5 years
2 GB >300 days >600 days 9 years
